I bought the Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry from Lookfantastic just over a month ago. It was the same time I bought the Antipodes Divine Face Oil.

My hair has a slight wave and can get a bit frizzy, it is of medium texture and does not get too dry or oily . I find even if I straighten it in the morning, over the course of the day it starts to look less-than sleek. I wanted something that would tame my hair and aid my straighteners in keeping it straighter for longer. So I picked up the Bumble and bumble Blow Dry, and here is my review on it.

Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry

The Bumble and bumble Blow Dry Creme retails at £24 for 150ml of product. It is pricey but only a tiny amount is needed. I use a blob the size of a five pence piece. It comes in a little squeezy tube which is handy for travel and also dispensing the right amount.

The Bb. Straight Blow Dry Creme is a heat-protective smoothing creme best suited for coarse, curly or frizzy hair. I like how it performs more than one function. I don’t like using loads of products in my hair so one that can protect it from heat whilst also smoothing gets a thumbs up in my eyes.

The first thing I noticed when I squeezed it into my palm was the smell. It has quite a strong cologne scent. It’s not unpleasant at all but it’s quite masculine and I was worried it’d clash with other hair products. Fortunately it does not linger once applied to the hair. I noticed on many websites it is referred to as a “balm”. To me it is more of a creme. Balms conjure up images of being much thicker, whereas this has a thinner, silky consistency.

To apply the Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry Creme I warm it up in my palms and apply evenly to damp hair. Then I go about styling my hair as usual. I do find my hair more manageable, and it takes less time to straighten it as my hair is already left quite straight after just blow drying it.

Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry My Thoughts

I found that using the Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry Creme helped tame my hair and keep frizz at bay. It also kept my hair looking sleek throughout the day. The only thing I would say is be careful of how much you use. I literally use the tiniest amount as using too much can weigh hair down and make it greasy. Those with more coarse hair types or really thick hair may not have that problem though. That said, I think those with fine hair or hair that can get oily quickly might want to give this a miss.

I have medium hair and it doesn’t get too greasy that quickly apart from my fringe (but I don’t use the creme in that). The Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry Balm is pricey but it works so well for me and as I use such a tiny amount each time, it should last a long time.
