4 Skincare Products to Banish Dry Skin

2 mins read

I remember a little while ago I mentioned I was suffering from a little bit of dry skin around my chin area. During that time, I stripped my skincare right back. I was just using a couple of products I knew wouldn’t aggravate my skin and a couple of nourishing oils and moisturisers. I’m not suffering from any dryness anymore, I think the combination of nourishing oils and the warmer weather helped. So here are four products I’ve been using that have really helped with my dry skin patches.

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser [review]

It feels like often people dismiss foaming cleansers as being too harsh and stripping the skin. The Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser contains Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate which is one of the milder surfactants (the foaming agent). The second ingredient is glycerin, a natural humectant that helps hydrate the skin. When my skin was particularly dry, this was one of the only cleansers that did not dry it out any further – buy.

Antipodes Divine Oil – Rosehip & Avocado [review]

The Antipodes Divine Oil – Rosehip & Avocado Oil is a really rich oil. I usually apply it before bed time as it takes a while for my skin to absorb it. Having said that, it’s packed with Rosehip, Avocado, Jojoba and Macadamia oils which all to some degree or other, help with moisturisation. The Antipodes Divine Oil really nourished my skin, it even improved the dry patches considerably overnight – buy

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 [review]

On the days when I didn’t use the Antipodes Divine Rosehip & Avocado Oil, I’d be using The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 combined with another moisturiser. To be more specific, I used the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 combined with the Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser. By itself the Origins moisturiser is more suited to oily skin types but Hyaluronic Acid helped with its absorption and made it more effective. I’m not one to own lots of the same product, so I really like that adding Hyaluronic Acid enhances a moisturiser’s effectiveness. It means I can use the Origins GinZing Moisturiser on its own when my skin doesn’t need as much nourishment, and combined with The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 when it does – buy.

Revolution Rosehip Seed Essence Spray [review]

I use the Revolution Rosehip Seed Essence Spray throughout the day when my skin needs an extra hit of moisture. It contains Rosehip so it’s a really nourishing spray and its effects are long lasting. At £6 it’s an absolute bargain and it means I don’t feel guilty using it throughout the day – buy.

Do you ever suffer from dry skin?

Sorry I’ve not been posting as much recently. I have been trying to educate myself on the Black Lives Matter movement, and signing petitions, sharing content etc. I’ve read a few books about race before such as Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race but it really feels as though now we’re having more discussions about it and there is more opportunity to learn. I know not everyone is in a position to donate but hopefully the momentum will carry on and discourse won’t just fizzle out. I have shared this video amongst family and friends but there are some videos on YouTube where the ad revenue will be donated to Black Lives Matter. I thought I’d mention it here in case you want to help but are not in a position do today. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCgLa25fDHM
