Benefit The POREfessional Primer Review

Benefit the porefessional

I’ve had these photos and Benefit The Porefessional primer for a little while now and I think they’ve since changed the packaging. None the less, I’ve had the opportunity to use it for a while now so thought it could do with a little review.

I have combination skin, and my pores are sometimes visible on or around my nose. I bought the POREfessional primer because it promises to minimise the appearance of pores.

The POREfessional is a silicone-based balm that is actually a brown colour when it comes out the tube. No fear for those who are fair skinned though, once applied it is completely transparent.

Benefit The POREfessional

The POREfessional is oil-free, lightweight, transluscent and leaves the skin feeling silky soft. I apply the primer to moisturised skin. I apply the most to my t-zone and working my way outwards. It does somewhat reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines. It has a mattifying effect and prolongs the wear of foundation and for that reason I think it’d be more suited to those with oily / combination skin.

The POREfessional basically works by blurring fine lines and pores so that they’re less visible. It contains film-formers which tighten the skin as they contract. This reduces the appearance of fine lines and pores, but it’s a temporary measure and has no lasting benefits. Whilst the POREfessional certainly does what it says on the tube, it’s not a product to use if you want to see long term benefits.

Overall, I really like The POREfessional if I’m in a rush and I need my make up to last. It makes applying foundation a dream and it makes my make up last longer. I just try to use other products in tandem with it to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores.
