Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray Review

*This post contained affliliate links

This is my second can of the Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray so it deserves a review.

What is theBumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray and what does it claim to do?

The Bumble and bumble Texture Spray is a translucent finishing spray in aerosol form. It almost works a little bit like a dry shampoo, giving instant lift and volume to hair that might otherwise lie flat. Imagine achieving the texture and hold of second day hair but with volume aswell.

That’s not to say the Bumble and bumble Texture Spray does not work on freshly washed hair. If you find after washing your hair it’s too silky and will not hold any style, this spray will be your new best friend. It adds a bit of texture and grip, allowing your hair to hold its style for longer.

How I use the Bumble and bumble Dryspun Texture Spray

I usually use the Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray on freshly washed hair to give it a bit of texture and volume. I find it works well with the Bumble and bumble Texture Creme. My review of the Bumble and bumble Texture Creme was posted a while ago and I still use it most days (or did, before social distancing). I use the Texture Creme to create that messy “just got out of bed” and “undone” look. Then I go over it with the Dryspun Texture Spray to add a little volume and hold. They both work well together to create that effortless look. I wrote more on how I style my shoulder-length hair to create a textured waves look if you want to read more about that. It even suggests cheaper dupes for some Bumble and bumble products.

The Bumble and bumble Texture Spray smells does have quite a strong scent. It’s not unpleasant, it smells like when you walk in to an upmarket hairdressers. I can’t really define it more than that but it doesn’t really linger for too long.

It doesn’t weigh the hair down. I find some hair sprays make the hair feel heavy or you get that dreaded crunchy or sticky feeling if you accidentally spray too much. The Bumble and bumble Dryspun Texture Spray is really light and doesn’t give that effect at all, regardless of how much you use.

At £23, the Bumble and bumble Dryspun Texture Spray is not the most affordable. However, I’d recommend it for those with fine – medium hair who want a little more volume and texture to create that effortlessly cool bed-head style. It really delivers on what it promises without leaving hair sticky or crunchy.

What hair products do you use to achieve volume?

Ps – all the products I am reviewing / have reviewed over the last month have all been in my stash for some time. I’m not buying any new products (apart from downloadable e-Books) for the time being. I have so many products in my make up stash to review anyway!
