First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask Review

I bought the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask when my skin was in serious need of first aid. I had dryness and some redness on my chin and needed it healed ASAP. This mask promises to nourish and rejuvenate skin, and the best part is you only have to leave it on for ten minutes.

The Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask comes in a travel-friendly plastic tube that has a vintage feel to it. I like that it comes in a squeeze tube, it seems more hygienic than a pot. It costs £19 – £20 for 56.7g of product. The tube felt lighter than I anticipated, but I think I can get about 10 – 15 uses out of it, resulting in a cost per use of around £1.50 – £2.

The directions suggest applying a generous layer to cleansed skin, leaving for ten minutes and then washing off. Best results are achieved if this is repeated 2-3 times a week. The mask is allergy-tested and fragrance free, so it’s safe for sensitive skin.

A deeply hydrating mask that helps nourish, calm and rejuvenate distressed-looking skin. It is the perfect antidote to dry, dehydrated skin. In just 10 minutes, the mask will help restore a rough, tight complexion and achieve soft, supple results.

The soothing formula blends a duo of protective oats Colloidal Oatmeal and Avena Sativa Oat Bran with Botanical Antioxidants and skin-nourishing ingredients to help repair the look of and revive your natural beauty.

First Aid Beauty – Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask – My Thoughts

The mask itself is a cream colour and has a silky consistency with discernible oatmeal granules. The base consists of hydrating plant oils, glycerin and cocoa and shea butters, so you know it’s going to be hydrating. It has a light natural scent that reminds me of sweet milky oats. I usually apply a generous layer in the evenings after showering and leave it on for ten minutes. The oat granules take a little bit of getting used to and it’s messier to apply than most masks. Although unlike most masks I’ve used in the past, it doesn’t really dry down or tighten the skin. It remains slightly tacky even after ten minutes.

I noticed my skin looking less red and inflamed as soon as I washed off the mask. My skin also felt more supple and softer. I used it consistently until my skin has improved, and I really think it helped in a big way. I should have added it to my “4 Products to Banish Dry Skin” post really! I’ve stopped using it as much now though as my skin is back to normal and not at all dry any more.

Th Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask is so hydrating, I’d really recommend it to people suffering from dry or dehydrated distressed skin and need something to calm it and provide much needed moisturisation. I’m definitely going to repurchase it when the colder weather comes around again. Because it’s so rich, I don’t think it’d do much in the way of helping those with oily skin.
