Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash Review

Garnier Micellar Gel Cleansing Wash

I bought Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash a few weeks ago now. I wanted something that would quickly remove my make up at the end of the day. I love Micellar Water and I saw this on offer so wondered how the Micellar Gel would stack up.

The product comes in plastic packaging with a pump. It’s handy for travel as it won’t break, and the pump twists on and off to prevent spills. As I said, I bought this on offer for the price of £2.66 for 200ml of product. Although the usual price of £3.99 hardly breaks the bank. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash is marketed towards sensitive skin types, containing glycerin and grape extract to soften and smooth skin.

The directions say to foam up the product with water and apply to wet skin. It has a runny gel-like consistency that lathers slightly upon contact with water, but not overly so. It has a slightly soapy smell despite not containing perfume.

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash says it’s for sensitive skin, and that it can be used on the face, eyes and lips. Although it was gentle on the face and the lips, I’d advise against using it near the eye area as it does sting like normal soap. I had to use another cleanser to remove my eye make up as it was not pleasant around that area. It’s in massive contrast to Micellar Water which I’ve found on the whole to be quite gentle. I also found I needed slightly more product when I needed to remove heavier make up.

Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash by Garnier – Final Thoughts

Overall, the Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash by Garnier left my skin feeling soft and nourished after use. It’s not in any way stripping, and I think it would work well as part of a skincare routine where there is another cleanse. I’ve not experienced any skin irritation using this product. It does a good job at removing light make up or just for an end-of-day cleanse, but it does not completely remove heavy make up. I found myself going in for a second cleanse on the days where I wore more make up to remove the final traces of it.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash for Sensitive Skin

Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash is inexpensive and gentle enough that I think it would be suitable for most skin types. It does a good job of cleansing the skin and removing light make up, but struggles against heavy make up. It would be ideal for those who double cleanse or are looking for a gentle cleanser to use in the mornings.
