IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture Spray

I bought the IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture Spray from SpaceNK about a month ago now, so here is my little review.

For reference, my hair strands are of medium thickness, and I have a lot of hair which sits just above my shoulders.

IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture Spray – The Review

A 60ml can of this from SpaceNK retails for around £10, which isn’t bad. It’s considered a dupe to the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, although for reference I have never used that one. The IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture spray is a lot cheaper though, as I said a 60ml can is £10, compared to £20 for 75ml of the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. So the IGK version seems a good place to start if you are new to texturizing sprays.

I notice a lot of people complain about the smell of the IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture Spray. It’s quite synthetic and very sweet – it sort of reminds me of Parma Violets. I don’t really find it that offensive, but if you are sensitive to smells and hate them to linger on your hair, perhaps this is not for you as the scent does stick around for a long time.

Like I said, the strands of my hair are of medium thickness, and I have a lot of hair. Even still, I have to be cautious about how much of this I can use. If I accidentally spray too much, my hair ends up sort of in between a sticky and crunchy mess. If I use the right amount, I can achieve that “undone and messy just came from the beach” look. It lasts well in the hair, I don’t feel the need to reapply it in the middle of the day – if I did I think I would end up in that sticky / crunchy mess stage.

In the end, the IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture Spray is an ok product. I think it would work well on thick hair, because I could imagine it weighing down fine hair. Also best suited to people who aren’t that sensitive to smells. The good points about the product are that it lasts well and definitely adds texture, although not as much volume. It’s definitely one to try if you are new to texturising sprays and you don’t want to spend so much on the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. Just make sure you’re cautious on how much you use!

Have you ever tried the IGK Beach Club Hair Volumizing Texture Spray, or the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray?
