Liis Studied Review: A Light, Airy Pear Skin Scent

I’ve been trying Liis Studied for a while now, and it’s one of those fragrances that feels very easy to wear. It doesn’t immediately announce itself in the way some perfumes do. Instead, it sits quite softly, and over time you start to notice the details.

It’s the kind of scent that feels quite understated, but in a way that still feels considered. Nothing about it feels overly done or overly sweet, which makes it something I’ve found myself reaching for quite naturally.

The opening

What stands out first is a soft, juicy pear note.

It feels quite ripe and slightly dewy, rather than sharp or overly sweet. There’s a freshness to it, but it doesn’t lean into anything too sugary or synthetic. Instead, it gives the fragrance a gentle brightness that feels quite natural on the skin.

It’s not an overly fruity opening either. The pear adds a lift, but it doesn’t dominate for too long or turn the fragrance into something that feels overly playful. It’s more of a subtle introduction than a defining feature.

How it wears on the skin

As it settles, what becomes more noticeable is the way the fragrance wears.

Despite that slightly juicy opening, it never really becomes dense or heavy. It stays quite light, soft and airy on the skin, which is probably what I enjoy most about it.

There’s also a soft musky quality that comes through as it settles, which gives it that clean, skin-like feel without ever becoming too powdery or heavy.

Some fragrances with fruit notes can start to feel a bit thick or cloying after a few hours, but this doesn’t really do that. It remains quite weightless, almost like a soft veil rather than something that sits heavily on the skin.

Overall feel

Liis Studied sits somewhere between a fresh, slightly fruity scent and a clean, skin-like fragrance.

It doesn’t fully lean into either, which is what makes it feel quite versatile. It has enough brightness from the pear to feel interesting, but the overall effect is much softer and more understated than you might expect.

It’s the kind of fragrance that works well day-to-day, especially if you prefer something that feels easy and doesn’t require too much thought.

I mentioned Liis Studied in my 10 Office-Friendly Perfumes That Smell Elegant post if you want to check that out.

What it’s similar to

Liis Studied sits in that space between a soft, slightly fruity fragrance and a clean skin scent, which makes it quite easy to compare to a few different styles of perfume.

If you enjoy fragrances that feel light and close to the skin, something like Glossier You comes to mind. They don’t smell the same, but they share that same understated, effortless quality.

It also has a similar appeal to some of the lighter Diptyque fragrances, particularly those that lean fresh and slightly airy rather than dense or overly structured.

What makes Studied slightly different is the pear in the opening. It gives it a gentle brightness that sets it apart from more purely musky or powdery skin scents, without pushing it into anything overly fruity.

When I would wear Liis Studied

In terms of longevity, it sits quite close to the skin and wears softly throughout the day rather than projecting strongly, which adds to that understated feel.

I tend to reach for Studied during the day, especially when I want something that feels quite effortless. It works particularly well in warmer weather, where that light, airy quality feels most at home, but it’s also easy to wear year-round if you prefer softer fragrances.

Final thoughts

Liis Studied is a quietly interesting fragrance.

The pear in the opening gives it a soft, juicy lift, but what really defines it is how lightly it wears on the skin. It never feels thick or overly sweet, and it avoids that slightly cloying quality that some softer fragrances can develop.

If you tend to prefer fragrances that feel clean, airy and effortless, this is one that’s well worth exploring.

Liis Studied retails for £165 for 50ml.
