This is probably one of the most luxurious shower products I’ve ever used. L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil is a golden oil which lathers when it comes into contact with water.
The oil comes in a see through plastic squeezy bottle with a cap you can push up to pour it out. The bottle design complements the product well, although the oil has a fairly watery consistency, so you have to be careful when dispensing it.
I’d say the watery consistency is rather deceptive as you don’t need very much at all. It thickens on contact with water, feeling more substantial and not like it’s going to slide straight down the plug hole. While it does lather, it more forms a sort of milky consistency rather than the lather you experience with other body washes. It also takes more effort to lather if you live in a hard water area which I do.
The oil has a light almond scent which isn’t pervasive after use. Neither does it leave any residue on the skin or in the shower.

L’Occitane’s Almond Shower Oil leaves skin feeling soft and nourished and I think it would be nice to use during the cooler months when skin is in need of some moisture. I think it’d be suitable for all skin types as it’s quite a light formula.
L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil ingredients:
- Sweet Almond Oil: A nutrient-rich emollient that moisturises dry skin
- Grapeseed Oil: A lightweight oil that hydrates and nourishes
- Vitamin E: A humectant, emollient and antioxidant common in skincare
- Beta-Sitosterol: Helps to provide a sense of comfort to sensitive-feeling skin
The only downside is the price. At £22 for 250ml this is pricy. But I think it’s nice as an occasional treat, and could negate the need for body lotion due to its moisturising qualities. It’s also on sale quite often, I think I picked up my bottle for £16 from LookFantastic.
