NARS Lipstick in Rosecliff Review

I’ve had NARS Rosecliff for so long now, it was first mentioned in my Best Nude Lipsticks for Fair Skin post which is almost a year old! There are a few reasons I love this lipstick, the rest I will discuss shortly. One of them is that it seems to have gone under the radar of most people. I rarely hear anyone talk about or recommend NARS Rosecliff, which is a shame as it’s a good everyday lipstick.

NARS Rosecliff comes in the typical rubberised NARS packaging, as opposed to the NARS Audacious lipstick line which comes in the metal tubes. It costs £22 for 3.5g of product, so it’s pricey but that’s to be expected with NARS products I suppose. NARS Rosecliff comes in a satin finish. It’s a muted rosy brown shade which is not too dissimilar from Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk. My post on nude lipsticks for fair skin swatches them side by side if you’re interested in comparing them. Emma Stone wore it to the Golden Globe Awards and it just looked like the perfect nude on her.

NARS Rosecliff Lipstick – My Thoughts

I find Rosecliff takes a while to warm up, if that makes sense. It feels a bit stiff upon application, but feels comfortable once applied and does not accentuate any cracks or dryness on the lips. The lipstick applies evenly and is well pigmented. It’s a satin finish so it’s not exactly moisturising, but it does have moringa and passion fruit seed oil to condition the lips. I’d still recommend putting on a lip balm underneath if you have really dry lips. I think NARS Rosecliff has good lasting power, it lasts for about four hours before it begins to fade. Once it does wear off, it does so evenly.

I feel like NARS Rosecliff is just one of those lipsticks that adds something without being too bold. It’s really subtle and a great everyday colour. It also looks great with a smokey eye as it polishes off the look without being overpowering.

I’d recommend NARS Rosecliff to those with fair skin who are looking for a low maintenance nude. I also think it will suit other skin tones!
