REN Micro Polish Cleanser review

The REN Micro Polish Cleanser is a two-in-one formula that promises to cleanse and exfoliate at the same time. REN’s Micro Polish Cleanser is made from natural ingredients, and uses glycolic acid found in pineapple to exfoliate in conjuction with the crushed amber beads found in the cleanser.

The tube is lightweight and as such when it first arrived, I thought that half the product is missing. There is only 150ml of product and the tube is a lot bigger, so I make sure to give it a good shake beforehand to ensure all the product is easy to dispense. It’s practical coming in a squeeze tube though, ensuring you can get all the product. I haven’t found I have over-squeezed and wasted any product either, which is good.

The REN Micro Polish Cleanser has a thick creamy consistency. The amber beads were noticeable but not large in size. It has a lovely citrus scent and the papaya really comes through. I use it in the evening because it contains glycolic acid, and I use it three times a week as directed on the packaging.

REN Radiance Micro Polish Cleanser – My Thoughts

I found that due to the fact it used glycolic acid combined with a manual scrub in the crushed amber beads, it was not as abrasive as many manual scrubs. I am prone to flakey skin though which looks a little dull, and I am pleased to say it did effectively get rid of the dead skin cells, revealing smoother skin underneath. It didn’t irritate the skin either, nor did it leave my skin feeling dry or tight – a common effect of many exfoliators.

I can barely comment on reducing pore size or fine lines, as I fortunately do not have very noticeable pores or fine lines. The REN Micro Polish Cleanser is a pleasure to use though, and definitely brightens the skin whilst gently exfoliating it.

REN pride themselves on using 100% plant and mineral active ingredients rather than synthetic ingredients that can irritate skin. Therefore I think it is suited to most skin types, but as always make sure you patch test first! REN is also cruelty-free and so their products are suitable for vegetarians and most of their products are suitable for vegans.

At £23 for 150ml of product, the REN Micro Polish Cleanser does not come cheap. I would recommend it for those who are prone to flaky skin and are sensitive to most manual facial scrubs though.
