The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser Review

I picked up The Ordinary’s Glucoside Foaming Cleanser recently to use with my Foreo Luna mini 2. I know that foaming is not indicative of performance, but I admit I do enjoy the bubbles – especially when paired with my facial cleansing brush. Having said that, this cleanser does not foam as much as others due to the absence of any sulphates.

It’s a water-based cleanser and contains coco-glucoside and decyl glucoside. Coco-glucoside is a cleansing agent that can lift dirt and oils, made from fatty alcohol and sugar glucose. Decyl glucoside is a foaming surfactant. It has a gel-to-foam formula and is aimed towards all skin types. It comes in a rather sleek squeezy tube which is convenient and means you’re able to use every last drop.

It’s not an all-in-one product. And what I mean by that is it won’t remove your make up and leave your skin feeling clean. It’s designed to be used during a second cleanse. I mainly use it on no make up days where I just want to use something light.

While this doesn’t irritate my skin and is advertised for all skin types, I think it’s definitely more for oilier skin types or for normal – combination during the warmer months . I have normal – combination skin and using this in the winter does leave it feeling a little tight even though it claims not to have that effect. I think in the summer I’d get on much better with this, and if you have oily skin it would be a good year-round cleanser for you.

Would I recommend The Ordinary’s Glucoside Foaming Cleanser?

The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser retails for just over £11 for 150ml which is very reasonable. I’d recommend it if you want a lightweight cleanser and have oily skin (or normal – combination and want something for the warmer months). I’d recommend using something a bit richer if you have dry skin or need something for the winter though.
