My favourite thing to have in the morning is a smoothie. I’m not big on just fruit and veg smoothies though, they have to have some substance to them otherwise I just get hungry in half an hour and grab a KitKat.
My banana oat protein smoothie recipe:
My favourite smoothie to have is a banana oat one, with a bit of peanut butter for protein. There we have a mixture of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. You could even had some protein powder if you wanted to up the quantity. I like this smoothie the morning after an evening strength class to repair the muscles. These are the measures I use though:
Ingredients for my banana oat protein smoothie:
300ml milk (semi skimmed or plant-based)
1 medium sized banana
2 tablespoons of rolled oats
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
Protein powder
Simply whizz in a blender et voila. You have a perfectly balanced breakfast that is easy to consume for those who aren’t morning people. I know this isn’t the most complex of recipes, but damn is it tasty.
