Diptyque Eau des Sens Eau De Toilette Review

I bought Diptyque’s Eau des Sens at the beginning of the summer time and it’s been a staple throughout the warmer weather. I’ve found it to be the perfect refreshing scent. I mentioned Eau des Sens as one of my summer 2025 perfume picks.

Eau des Sens comes in Diptyque’s iconic oval bottles. As it is an Eau de Toilette, it has a white label and clear sides. As is tradition, Eau des Sens has artwork on the back of the label which can be seen through the glass (see below).

Eau des Sens is a blend of bitter orange, orange blossom, juniper berries, angelica and patchouli. It’s equal parts juicy and bitter, with burst of citrus in the opening. The juniper berries give it a bit of spice but it’s still primarily a citrus-floral perfume. I find it quite a clean, refreshing scent. It’s a little bit soapy from the orange blossom, but never feels too much.

Eau des Sens longevity and performance

Don’t be fooled by its Eau de Toilette formulation as this fragrance performs. I sprayed this on at around 7pm one evening and could smell it on my clothes the next day. It also seems to project well, and I keep getting whiffs of it throughout my time wearing it. Despite its “beast mode” performance, it never feels too cloying or overwhelming.

I think this is an ideal fragrance for someone who wants a “summer perfume” that’s not a typical tropical white floral perfume, or fruity gourmand. Eau des Sens is a multifaceted clean orange blossom fragrance with a hint of spice and a bitter orange opening.

I’d definitely say Eau des Sens works best in the spring and summer time as the bitterness is very refreshing and works well in high heat.

Diptyque’s Eau des Sens retails for £98 for 50ml and I think this is reasonable for the performance and uniqueness.

What’s your summer fragrance?
