The Bumble and bumble Surf Spray was mentioned in my best sea salt sprays post and I do absolutely love it.
125ml for £22 is a hefty price tag, I know. Although you can get smaller bottles for £12 if you are unsure and just want to try it out. It’s a simple blend of minerals and sea salt. The ingredients are basic but it is one of the most effective sea salt sprays I have used. Bumble and bumble are a cruelty-free brand so it could be of interest for those concerned with that cause.
The Bumble and bumble Surf Spray comes in a cute little black bottle with a silver lid. It’s easy to transport and I can’t see it breaking easily. I usually spray on my hair when it is damp. I use the product sparingly as although it has never weighed my hair down, using a lot of sea salt can make hair unmanageable.
Bumble and bumble Surf Spray – My Verdict
I don’t find the scent amazing. It just smells of salty water to me. Many come with coconut scents and remind me of pina coladas. This just reminds me of accidentally slurping a mouthful of sea water. Not great, but the scent isn’t overpowering and it doesn’t stick around for too long so I can put up with it.
The scent encouraged me actually. I found that those that were heavily scented often built up on my hair if I used them a few days in a row and really weighed it down or made it feel greasier than usual. I already use an oil so I don’t want a sea salt spray to add extra oils to my hair.
The Bumble and bumble Surf Spray acts more typically of what would happen if you spent the day at the beach. It is a bit more drying, so those with coarse hair might struggle with it. But it adds fantastic volume and texture for us with normal or oily hair types.
Have you ever tried the Bumble and bumble Surf Spray? What did you think of it?
