Liz Earle Skin Repair Light

It’s not often I get quite this excited over a moisturiser but here we are. I find throughout different points of the year my skin usually needs different things. In the winter I need plenty of exfoliants and moisturisers and in the summer I focus a bit more on cleansers for oily skin and light moisturisers.

That’s until I picked up Liz Earle’s Skin Repair Light – and why did I not try this stuff before now I do not know. The cream is marketed as a silky moisturiser that locks in hydration without leaving a greasy residue and it does exactly that.

I believe there are four moisturisers in the Skin Repair range. You have the Skin Repair Light, the Skin Repair Rich Day Cream aimed at dry skin types and provides 72 hours of intense hydration, the Skin Repair Gel Cream aimed at oily and sensitive skin types, and the Hydrating Night Cream that maximises overnight recovery. Prices range from £26 – £28 for 50ml of product.

About Liz Earle’s Skin Repair Light Cream

The Skin Repair Light Cream comes in a little glass pot with a screw lid and retails for £28 for 50ml. I like the packaging, it’s functional and feels sturdy, but I’m more concerned with how the product performs.

The Skin Repair Light is aimed towards normal / combination skin but like all in the range, can be used by any skin type including sensitive. It promises “balanced hydration, this lightweight, plant-powered moisturiser locks in moisture and effortlessly hydrates to restore balance to all skin types.

I honestly really enjoy using this. The cream feels really lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly. I can put this moisturiser on in the morning and apply my make up 20 minutes later with ease. For how lightweight it is, it really packs a punch.

I wouldn’t say I have major skin concerns. I have normal/ combination skin which can feel a little dry in winter, and my t-zone gets a bit oily in the summer. This moisturiser seems to perfectly target both. It hydrates the slightly drier parts of my face, while not adding to the oilier parts. I’ve not had any reactions to it either, although my skin is not overly sensitive.

After using this moisturiser, my skin feels soft, smooth and supple for at least a day. I’m not sure if it lives up to its 72 hour mark, but I’m happy to get at least 24 hours of hydration from one application.

Although £28 might seem steep for a moisturiser, I often see it on sale on Lookfantastic and definitely recommend it. If you have skin like mine, definitely check it out! I will be repurchasing after I’ve finished my pot because it really is that great.

What moisturiser do you use?
