Stanley Iceflow Flip Straw Tumbler review
I’m a bit late to the whole Stanley / reusable stainless steel cup trend. Until about a month ago I used a Chilly’s insulated bottle I’ve had for about 6 years, or reused plastic bottles which I know you’re not really meant to do. I’m probably about 90% microplastic right now. I know the big Stanley Quencher cup is the more well known of the two, but I picked up the Iceflow because it’s advertised as leakproof and I am a total klutz when it comes to dropping things. The Stanley Iceflow comes in an array of different colours, from
Diptyque Do Son Eau De Toilette review
I bought Diptyque’s Do Son Eau De Toilette a few months ago now and here are my thoughts. Recently I’ve been on such a perfume buying spree. I tend not to buy any for years and years and then buy a few bottles at a time when my tastes change. My latest buy is Diptyque’s Do Son – and the version I picked up is a limited edition 30ml version, which is now out of stock unfortunately. It comes in a lovely glass bottle with an illustration on the back which is visible through the glass. Diptyque describe the fragrance
Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk Review
*This post contains affiliate links I remember talking about how much I wanted to buy Glossier’s Cloud Paint in Dusk so much on my post about budgeting for high end beauty products. I wanted to try Glossier for the longest time and I heard so many good things about their Cloud Paints. Glossier’s Cloud Paints come in 8 shades and are marketed as buildable gel-creme products that are easy to use and seamless. Initially, they apply quite sheer so even the most dramatic of colours should be wearable. Pigment can be built up though, depending on the look you’re going
REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic Review
I bought The REN Ready Steady Glow Tonic over the winter months, just in the little travel size to test out. The images were sitting in my inbox for a long time but I didn’t have the motivation to post about it until now. I generally like REN products and was keen to try out this tonic. The REN website claims that the tonic exfoliates, brightens, tightens and hydrates for a smooth, even and energised complexion that’s all glow without the irritation. It also claims to be gentle enough for daily use. The Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic contains
REN Perfect Canvas Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser Review
The REN Jelly Oil Cleanser is marketed as a gentle yet effective cleansing treatment that is clinically proven to remove waterproof make up. Indeed, I have used it and it effectively removes make up, pollution and SPF, and feels gentle enough to use around the eye area. Despite being such an effective cleanser, it does not feel stripping. Instead, skin feels soft and supple after use. The cleanser boasts a tri-phase formulation; firstly dispensing as a rather firm jelly, then turning into an oil and then a milk upon contact with water. It feels luxurious and gentle on the skin.
Vera Wang Embrace Green Tea and Pear Blossom Review
Over the last year I have used up a couple of fragrances and I wanted something to replace them. I’m not really loyal to a particular brand or perfume. I don’t have a signature scent and I prefer to alternate depending on my mood. I sort of blind bought Vera Wang’s Embrace Green Tea and Pear Blossom EDT. I like green tea fragrances and there was a sale on ASOS so I went for it. It comes in a small square shaped glass bottle with a silver cube shaped lid. I like how it is packaged, it’s very modern and
Shoreditch Street Art #3
It’s been an age since I’ve been to Shoreditch and even longer still since I’ve posted its street art on the blog. It’s an interesting place to go at the weekends as it is home to quirky bars, breweries, coffee shops and boutique stores. It’s also close to Spitalfields Market and Columbia Road Flower Market so there is plenty to explore. Shoreditch also has a kind of artsy vibe, which I guess comes as no surprise as the London College of Fashion has a campus there so the student population has a big influence. It’s one of the best places
Real Techniques Skin Erase The Day Makeup Remover Pads Review
In a bid to become more sustainable, I’m trying to cut out the use of cotton pads and wipes used during my make up removal / skincare routine. I mentioned in my Beauty Confessions post that I sometimes use make up wipes. Monika from Window to The beauty recommended make up remover pads and so here we are. I picked up some Makeup Remover Pads by Real Techniques a few weeks ago, and I’ve had a great time using them since. Here’s what I’ve found. The Real Techniques Skin Erase The Day Makeup Remover Pads (what a mouthful) come in
Barry M Lip Scrub in Watermelon Review
I have been meaning to pick up a lip scrub for a while now. I’ve reviewed the Lush Lip Scrub in Bubblegum before on the blog but I have recently discovered that Barry M has released its own lip scrub range. Barry M’s lip scrubs come in four flavours; Peppermint, Mango, Apple and Watermelon. They all sounded enticing but I opted for Watermelon simply because of the bright pink packaging. Each lip scrub costs £4.99 for 25g of product, so they are slightly cheaper than their Lush counterparts. The scrubs are infused with Vitamin E and Olive Oil to reverse skin
Spring ’21 Wishlist
I never really publish these sorts of wishlist posts. But, it is coming into spring here in the UK and lockdown will gradually lift over the next couple of months. Like probably 90% of the UK’s population, I’ve been living in pyjamas and loungewear for the past year. I’m not going to lie, before lockdown I went to the gym 5-6 times a week and got ready properly in the mornings. Now it’s a case of working in my pyjamas until lunch time and then throwing on a pair of jeans or leggings to go on a quick walk outside
