Book Review: Just Another Tuesday in Manhattan by Christopher Tradgett
Christopher very kindly emailed me asking if I’d like to read his first novella, Just Another Tuesday in Manhattan. I accepted and devoured it in one sitting. All opinions in this review are my own. Just Another Tuesday in Manhattan follows the story of Andy Jordan and Gino Bianchi as they discover they’re identical twins and their journey to find their birth mother. Eventually they learn about their birth mother’s devastating secret, which really sets the emotional tone for the rest of the novella. The book explores family dynamics, finding your place in this world and building relationships with those
Mutha.Hood Dumpling Quilted Crossbody Bag Review
I’ve had my Dumpling Quilted Crossbody Bag in Electric Blue by Mutha.Hood for over a year now. It’s so handy for trips out, and I featured it in my best bags to wear for exploring London post. About Mutha.Hood as a brand Mutha.Hood is a sustainable, community led fashion brand and home to The Strong Girls Club. Its core focus is to empower women through strong, meaningful messages. You can read more about their story and how the brand came into being here. The brand’s messaging really resonates with me and I love a lot of the products they stock.
Pom Pom London Bag Review
I’ve been a customer of Pom Pom London for a few years now, and here is what I think of their bags. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Pom Pom London is a British company. Their bags are designed in the UK (although they are then manufactured in China). Pom Pom London was founded in 2015 and offer a range of full grain leather bags. The brand’s USP is that the bag straps are interchangeable which gives them versatility. I usually buy these bags on offer, where you get the colour corresponding leather strap, a choice of two more straps
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne Review
Introducing the scent I wore on Christmas Day – Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir Cologne. This is a juicy pomegranate scent, with some spice from clove and pink pepper. I don’t think there’s many aromas more Christmassy than red berries and cloves. Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir notes and scent profile This fragrance has a lot of notes, from watermelon to jasmine to guaiac wood and patchouli. While the patchouli does add a slight earthiness, and there are some perceptible woody notes, Pomegranate Noir to my nose is a juicy, spicy red berry scent. I don’t get any floral notes in this
The Best Lip Balm? Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
I think Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream has gained cult status in the beauty world, as a sort of wonder product. It’s a “one and done” sort of item; something you stick in your bag to tackle all sorts of skin problems. Need to shape your brows on the go? Slick a bit of this on them. Experiencing skin irritation from an insect bite? Soothe it with this. It can also be used on dry skin, scrapes, sunburn, windburn, and as I recently discovered – chapped lips. Despite its name, this isn’t a cream in any sense of the word.
Beyond the Landmarks: London Activities with a Thrill
I live in London and I’ve fallen into a routine of going to the same places. Even on my days off, I go to the same bars, cafes and on the same walks. I think I’ve taken it for granted that I live here and everything there is to see will still be there tomorrow. However, I think I want to start exploring new places soon. Perhaps it might be a new year’s resolution to myself. What do you think? Have you made any new year’s resolutions yet? Here are a few more high octane suggestions for the adrenaline seekers
Smart Bedroom Organisation Ideas That Really Work
A well-organised bedroom is more than just visually pleasing—it can make everyday routines easier and help you feel calmer in your space. Whether you’re working with a compact room or a generous layout, smart organisation ideas focus on using what you already have more effectively while making thoughtful upgrades where needed. I find this time of year a good time to rethink how I organise my room as I’m usually home a bit more and so if it’s cluttered it really affects me. I rent in London and space is not in abundance so I find I have to be
Le Labo Rose 31 Review
I picked up Le Labo’s Rose 31 in the recent Black Friday sale after testing it a few times. Here’s what I think of it. Rose 31 fragrance notes Rose 31 is described as a floral-woody scent, and I’d generally agree with this. As the name suggests, one of the main notes is rose, which is present throughout wear. It has cumin and rose in the top, rose, vetiver and cedar in the middle, and guaiac wood, musk, agarwood, olibanum and labdanum in the base. My thoughts on Le Labo’s Rose 31 On first spray, there is a distinctive cumin
The Prettiest Ways to ‘Fix’ an Old Tattoo in 2026
For, if like me, you want to change your mind or style often. I remember sharing people’s tattoos on my old blog and I always had a fascination with them. Although I don’t know if any had them covered up (and I hope not as they were beautiful), I won’t deny sometimes people have regrets, want a change, or a tattoo might not feel like them anymore. Hopefully in 2026, tattoo regret will be a thing of the past. With the latest advancements in tattoo removal and cover-up techniques, there will be plenty of ways that you can transform
