Diptyque has long held a special place in the world of fragrance, known for its thoughtful approach to scent and its quietly distinctive aesthetic. From the illustrated bottles to the compositions themselves, there’s a sense that every detail has been carefully considered, creating perfumes that feel both artistic and effortlessly wearable.
Many of their fragrances sit on the lighter, more nuanced side, making them easy to return to day after day and suitable across a range of settings, whether you’re looking for something subtle or quietly expressive.
As a luxury house, Diptyque sits at a higher price point, with eau de parfums around £170 and eau de toilettes ranging from just over £100 to around £145 depending on size. With that in mind, choosing the right fragrance feels all the more important.
Here, I’ve gathered ten of the Diptyque perfumes that stand out – scents that capture the brand’s character and are well worth exploring.
Diptyque Orpheon

Orphéon is one of Diptyque’s more recent releases, and quickly became one of my favourites. It’s a softly powdery, woody fragrance with a subtle brightness from juniper that gives it a gently lifted feel.
Although powdery, it never feels vintage or overly nostalgic. Instead it comes across as effortlessly chic and easy to wear, with a quiet elegance that feels very characteristic of the brand. It’s also one of Diptyque’s stronger performers on my skin, lasting throughout the day with a soft but noticeable presence.

Diptyque Philosykos
I think Philosykos is one of the most iconic fig fragrances out there, and for good reason. It’s known for its hyper-realistic interpretation of fig, fruit, leaves, and even the tree itself. It’s quite a green scent, but the EDP leans slightly creamier and longer lasting.
This is a beautiful choice if you enjoy green, nature-inspired fragrances.
Diptyque Fleur De Peau
Fleur De Peau translates to “skin flower,” which feels quite fitting. It’s a powdery floral that’s very clean and sophisticated without evoking laundry products.
I feel like this scent is quite multifaceted and can smell different depending on who wears it. I notice more of the powder and carrot seed facets than overt florals, for example.
Fleur de Peau is a must try if you enjoy a skin scent.
Diptyque Lilyphea
This is another one of Diptyque’s newest releases, and sits slightly higher in price than the EDPs. Lilyphea is inspired by the scent of a waterlily and it does that perfectly. It’s a lovely watery floral but has some unexpected warmth from a ginger note. This is very dreamlike and softly luminous.
Diptyque Do Son

Do Son is Diptyque’s interpretation of tuberose. The eau de toilette is slightly greener and the eau de parfum is slightly deeper and creamier. The eau de toilette has a subtle marine quality that keeps it from becoming too heady.
It’s a very elegant choice for someone who enjoys feminine-leaning white florals.

Diptyque Tam Dao
Tam Dao is Diptyque’s sandalwood fragrance and a particularly beautiful interpretation. It’s well worth exploring if you enjoy sandalwood as it feels quietly soothing and meditative without straying into that “dill pickle” territory.
Diptyque L’ombre Dans L’eau
L’ombre Dans L’eau was one of the first Diptyque perfumes I bought and remains one of my firm favourites. It translates as “the shadow in the water” and it fits that name perfectly. L’ombre Dans L’eau is a very green fragrance with the blackcurrant leaf, rose, and petitgrain. On first spray you get a lot of the photorealistic blackcurrant leaf but the rose gives it a dark depth.
It’s very mysterious and interesting, and one of the best performers in terms of wear and projection from Diptyque too.
Diptyque Eau Capitale
Often compared to Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady, Eau Capitale is Diptyque’s rose and patchouli fragrance. This is a chypre perfume with a modern twist, and feels very Parisian chic.
Although its comparisons to Portrait of a Lady are warranted, this is slightly lighter and fresher due to the bergamot and pink pepper in the opening.
Diptyque Eau des Sens

Eau des Sens is Diptyque’s citrus fragrance with notes of bitter orange, angelica and patchouli. It’s quite sharp and refreshing on first spray, but settles into the skin as a beautifully clean orange blossom.
This is one I reach for when I want to feel polished on a warm summer’s day. It has great performance for an eau de toilette.

Diptyque Eau Duelle
Eau Duelle is Diptyque’s interpretation of vanilla. This is a very sophisticated vanilla that’s warm and spicy thanks to the incense and pink pepper notes.
Eau Duelle has a complexity to it that you’d expect from a niche house, and it’s a lovely choice for anyone looking for a more nuanced take on vanilla.
Diptyque Eau Rose

Eau Rose Eau de Parfum by Diptyque is worth considering if you are looking for a modern rose perfume. This is slightly green and vegetal from the artichoke note which keeps it fresh and interesting. The rose feels photorealistic yet youthful, making the perfume surprisingly versatile.

Overall, Diptyque offers a beautifully distinctive fragrance portfolio, with scents that feel both creative and wearable.
