Visiting Bermondsey Street London

Nestled between London Bridge station and Tower Bridge there’s a road called Bermondsey Street. It’s one of my favourite places to explore on a Sunday (although preferably on a drier day than when these photos were shot). It’s fully of quirky cafes and bars, vintage knick-knack shops, pubs and flower stalls. Is there anything better than a relaxing Sunday sipping coffee and perusing an independent shop? I think not!

I have been before several times, but on this trip I went with Noe. She also shot the photos for my post on Vinegar Yard in London Bridge and Maltby Street Market.

The buildings are a mish-mash of old and new, with colourful exteriors. Predominantly Bermondsey Street comprises old Victorian warehouse style buildings.

Tanner & Co is a great little place to visit if you ever wanted to swing by Bermondsey Street. It’s open seven days a week from 8am – 1am unless it’s a Sunday when it closes at 10:30pm. Go for bottomless brunch, grab an early morning coffee or a late night drink. Although the weather wasn’t exactly perfect for sitting outdoors, isn’t it so lovely with the colourful chairs and string lights?

Bermondsey Bar and Kitchen is open from early to late as well and serves sustainable British food and cocktails. Definitely worth checking out, even if just to see the beautiful floral arches and beautiful warehouse-style interiors!

No visit is complete without picking up some flowers!

How to get to Bermondsey Street

It’s super simple to get to Bermondsey Street. The closest underground station is London Bridge and it’s right off of St Thomas Street, literally a few minutes!

Do you have any area in your neighbourhood you love spending time in?
