Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Blondie Pink

Let me introduce you to one of my all time favourite lipsticks in one of my all time favourite ranges. You can probably tell by the packaging that I’ve used this a lot!

About the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color line

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Blondie Pink

The Crushed Lip Color lipsticks feel like a balm but have the effect of a lipstick. They’re ultra long lasting and leave a stain on the lips, but they contain beeswax, vitamin C & E to keep your lips hydrated.

There are 22 shades currently on offer (that I could count on their website – ha), ranging from pink and brown nudes, to plums, to bright pinks and reds. There’s something for everyone.

The colours are buildable and although on the website they say the finish is matte, I’d say it was more satin. They give a diffused “just bitten” effect on the lips, rather than screaming “I am wearing lipstick.” They’re really great for low maintenance no-make-up make up looks.

I currently have two shades in the line, Blush which is a cool toned pale pink, and Blondie Pink which is a warm, yellow toned pink. They currently retail for £29 which is quite a lot, but I tend to pick them up when they’re on offer from places like ASOS. Although it’s worth bearing in mind some retailers don’t stock the whole range.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Blondie Pink – my thoughts

Blondie Pink comes in standard Bobbi Brown packaging. I love how the colour around the middle of the casing and on the bullet matches the shade. It’s a small thing but it’s helpful when trying to identify which lipstick is which!

Blondie Pink is described as a warm, yellow toned pink and I’d agree. It’s quite muted though and works as an everyday nude. I could imagine it suiting a range of skin tones. I’m generally quite cool toned and very fair skinned and I think it suits me. I adore the colour, it’s very me and the formula is practically fool proof. I have lipsticks in all sorts of colours, from reds to plums and don’t get me wrong, I love them but on a day-to-day basis I always reach for a nude my-lips-but-better shade. You can apply on the go and as it’s buildable it’s very forgiving on any slight application inaccuracies.

In the tube it does have a slight smell. I don’t really know how to describe it. It’s not unpleasant but slightly like artificial almond. It’s not very noticeable when it’s on the lips though. I also find that despite it containing beeswax, vitamin C & E, it can be ever so slightly drying towards the end of the day.

I feel a bit rubbish I don’t have a picture of it on my lips but the sun was slowly setting and I was running out of time. I’ll try to update this post in the future to show you what it looks like on though. Here’s Blondie Pink swatched on my arm. This is one swipe and blended out slightly so it’s not fully opaque, but I think the effect it leaves is absolutely gorgeous!

Have you tried the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colors yet? Do you have a favourite lipstick range?
