MAC Modesty Cremesheen Lipstick Review

MAC Modesty Cremesheen lipstick

MAC Modesty was one of the first MAC lipsticks I ever bought.

I love love love MAC lipsticks, especially the Cremesheen versions. They’re easy to wear and have a good level of pigmentation. They’re not going to dry out your lips but they’re not too glossy. The creamy consistency may put off people who like their lipsticks to feel a little lighter on the lips though. I wrote a longer guide detailing the differences between MAC lipstick finishes here which you may find helpful if you are a newbie to their lipticks and want to find out more.

MAC Modesty Cremesheen Lipstick – The Review

MAC Modesty Cremesheen Lipstick

I picked up MAC Modesty because it looks like a good every day nude – especially for fair skin. The MAC website describes it as a “muted neutral pink” and I’d agree. It’s not so bright so it’s good for every day wear where you want to enhance your lips without people asking “oh wow, are you wearing lipstick?”

I have fair skin and I would say that MAC Modesty is an ideal nude for fair skin tones who find that most recommended nude lipsticks are too bright / dark / peachy / pink for their skin tone to be considered a “true nude”. It has a hint of brown in it which mutes the pink and I think keeps it looking a little more natural.

It lasts for about three – four hours on the lips which isn’t great, but a compromise you have to make for its creamy consistency and comfortable wear.

I love the MAC lipstick packaging. The lipsticks are small enough to sling in your bag as they don’t take up much room, and they don’t get scratched or damaged easily. At £17.50 for 3g of product, you’d hope it was packaged correctly to minimise wastage, as they don’t come cheap!

MAC Modesty on Lips

Here is a picture of me wearing MAC Modesty. As you can see, it’s a very natural pink.

Have you ever tried MAC Modesty Cremesheen lipstick, or any other MAC lipsticks?
