Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo Review

Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo

I’ve used the Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo on and off for years. Recently, my hair felt a little more weighed down than usual so I decided to pick it up again.

I live in quite a hard water area and it means product and general residue tends to build up in my hair. Even after washing my hair with a regular shampoo it sometimes does not feel fully clean and tends to get dirtier quickly.

I decided to go back to my trusty Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo. It works as a clarifying shampoo so it’s not really meant for everyday use. As the name suggests (and why I also uploaded this on a Sunday – how organised) it is meant to be used once a week or less.

Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo

The Sunday Shampoo comes in a 250ml bottle. The bottle itself is actually clear and the shampoo is blue, although it doesn’t tint the hair thankfully! It has quite a clean scent that I can’t really place. It’s not overly floral, it just smells quite soapy I suppose. It reminds me a bit of the Original Fairy Liquid and it doesn’t linger.

I usually squeeze out the amount that’s about a size of a twenty pence piece. It lathers nicely even when a tiny amount is used, which is helpful as I find if shampoo doesn’t lather I apply more which probably adds to build up.

Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo – My Thoughts

Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo

Unlike many clarifying shampoos I have used, I don’t find the Sunday Shampoo drying. I usually apply nourishing treatments such as the Bumble and bumble Invisible Oil afterwards because I find that using a clarifying shampoo makes my hair more porous and able to absorb oils and serums.

I find it hard to gauge how “clean” hair feels when it is still wet. However, I can confirm when I dry my hair it feels lighter and cleaner. It also takes longer to start looking oily. I have a fringe and in warmer weather after a day it starts looking a bit worse for wear, after using the Sunday Shampoo I can go two days until I need to wash my hair again.

The only gripes I have with the product include the price (£22.50 for 250ml is expensive), that it cannot be used on coloured hair, and that it contain SLS.

Do you use any clarifying shampoo?
