City of London – Sunday Exploring

City of London

London on the whole is always so busy. Streets are busy, shops are busy, transport is busy. Sometimes I want to get out but to a quiet place. Sometimes I explore the City of London.

Whilst bustling during the week, the City of London is relatively quiet at the weekend. Especially outside of the Cheapside shopping centre at St Pauls and Spitalfields near Liverpool Street. Many of the shops are shut, but there is always a coffee shop open on a side street for some relaxed Sunday reading.

Leadenhall Market City of London

Above is Leadenhall Market. During the week it’s busy with people getting their lunch and having a few post-work drinks. At the weekend it’s so quiet and almost empty. The independent baguette shops rest for a few days. Leadenhall Market is such a grand building. If you’re in London I definitely recommend visiting. If you don’t like crowds you can always go at the weekend, like I did. Although shops will likely be closed.

The Gherkin City of London

There are so many weird and wonderful buildings to photograph in the City of London. The above is The Gherkin – formally known as 30 St Mary Axe. I think it’s one of the most iconic and striking buildings in London. What do you think?

Where do you like to explore over the weekend?
