Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Milky Leave In Conditioner

I’ve spoken a bit before about how my hair gets more knotty now. I’ve been trying different things to help it and one of them is using more leave in conditioners.

Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Joia Milky Leave-In Conditioner is for all hair types and has heat protection and detangling benefits. I don’t really use heat on my hair all that much – especially in the summer – but detangling abilities are very much welcome.

The conditioner is packed with oils and butters like babaçu and Brazil nut oils and cupuaçu butter to help hydrate hair. It also has a pleasant scent which does linger after use. It smells like sweet caramel and vanilla to me. This retails at £28 for 210ml. So it’s pricy, but I’ve been using it every other day for about a month now and there is still a lot left.

It comes in a little orange spray bottle that’s surprisingly supple, and has a spray nozzle for ease of use.

How the Sol de Janeiro Milky Leave-In Conditioner worked for me

I usually spray this onto the middle to ends of damp hair after I’ve washed it. I then leave it to work its magic for a few minutes before using my Tangle Teezer Wide Tooth Comb to detangle my hair. Honestly, it works really well. I find that my hair is much easier to detangle, and what was a 10 minute job before now takes a minute or two. Another good thing is that it doesn’t weigh my hair down. I find a lot of leave-in conditioners can leave a residue after a while, but I haven’t noticed it with this.

I find the Sol de Janeiro Milky Leave-In Conditioner also helps to keep my hair hydrated. I’ve noticed my hair feels less dry and frizzy for a while after use. Some hair products only work for a short time after use on me before my hair goes back to being tangled and frizzy. Whereas here its moisturising effects are more long lasting.

All in all, I really like the Sol de Janeiro Milky Leave-In Conditioner. I just wish it was a little less pricy. However, if you’re really struggling with knotty hair I recommend giving it a go.

Do you use any leave in conditioners?
